Guardião joins Técnico Venture Lab

AI-powered protection against digital fraud and manipulation, designed to act before families ever encounter the threat

Técnico Venture Lab welcomes Guardião , Guardian Labs EU, to its incubation program. The startup is developing artificial intelligence models dedicated to protecting families from digital fraud and manipulation, with a system designed to intervene before the victim has any contact with the threat. 

The team behind Guardião includes two IST alumni and has built an institutional ecosystem that spans partnerships with national law enforcement agencies and leading product and venture studios, reflecting both the technical ambition and the real-world urgency of the problem they are tackling. 

Digital fraud is one of the fastest-growing threats to individuals and households across Europe. Guardião’s approach differs from conventional security tools by operating proactively: instead of detecting fraud after it happens or alerting users mid-interaction, its models are trained to identify and block threats upstream, before manipulation begins. 

By joining TVL’s incubation program, Guardião gains direct access to IST’s laboratories and R&D infrastructure, specialist mentorship, and connections to its industry and investment network — the deep tech ecosystem the mission demands.
